Arie Leeper's Flat Stanley tours DeRidder, LA

While Arie's Stanley visits DeRidder, Louisiana, Memaw took him around to see some points of interest.  He went to the Beauregard Parish Museum where he got his picture taken with the state flag showing the state bird, the Pelican.

Next, he viewed a 100 year old cypress tree, the state treee. Did you know cypress trees have knees?

Inside the museum, Arie's Stanley found an old set of clothes that Santa & Mrs. Claus left behind after one of their visits.

Louisiana has been the home of several Indian tribes. Arie's Stanley liked looking at some of the arrowhead found in Beauregard Parish (county).

During the horse and buggy days, DeRidder was a railroad town with a big lumber yard along the tracks. Arie's Stanley eagerly climbed into the old train caboose and explored inside.

Tomorrow Arie's Stanley will visit the old haunted jail.
